About Dr. Rhaney

What I Will Not Ignore

You've been dismissed politely.
Minimized professionally.
Sent home still knowing something isn't right.

You deserve more than an explanation.
You deserve a plan and real hope—
the chance to feel like yourself again.

My job isn't simply to tell you what's wrong.
It's to help you get your life back.

I want you to leave with more than answers.
I want you to leave with a way forward.

That is the standard here.

I have spent enough time on both sides of the exam table to know what it costs when those things are missing.

My practice exists so that when you're the woman in the room, you never have to wonder whether I believe you, whether I will stay long enough to hear the whole story, or whether I will tell you the truth even when it's complicated.

My story

I did not learn this from a textbook.

I am a breast cancer survivor. Treatment put me into medically induced early menopause, and I was not a candidate for systemic estrogen therapy — which meant the standard answers, the ones I had given other women, were not available to me.

So I went looking. I read, I asked, I sat in waiting rooms. And I found out what it feels like to be the one explaining herself to someone who has already decided how much time this deserves.

I know what it is to feel dismissed by the very system you work within.

That is a strange kind of grief — to hold a medical degree and still not be heard. I do not tell you this for sympathy. I tell you because it is the reason I practice the way I do.

How that story shaped my medicine

It changed what I listen for, and how long I am willing to stay.

I no longer assume a woman is exaggerating because her labs look unremarkable. I assume there is something I have not found yet. Bodies usually make sense once someone is willing to look carefully.

So the visits are unhurried. The questions go where other visits stopped. And you leave with a plan you actually understand — not a prescription handed to you on the way out the door. My patients are not cases. They are women in the most consequential chapters of their lives, and they deserve a physician who has done more than study those chapters in a textbook.

Beyond the exam room

There are more women than there are appointments.

That arithmetic keeps me up. I can only sit across from so many people in a week, and the ones I will never meet deserve the same honest explanation as the ones I do.

So I wrote the book I wish someone had handed me — Becoming StrongHer Through Menopause — and I am building a place online where a woman can begin to understand what is happening in her own body, at her own pace, without having to earn the right to be taken seriously first.

I don't just want women to come see me. I want to help the woman who may never be able to.

If this sounds like the physician you have been hoping to find, there is a quiet place to begin.
